Spalatin's Twilight Years

The "Architect of the Reformation" died in 1545 in Altenburg and was laid to rest St. Bartholomäikirche. His remains are lost. The great importance of both Georg Spalatin's worldly and religious lives live on in Altenburg. A remembrance plaque is found still today in St. Bartholomäikirche for Luther's diplomat, the first Superintendent of Altenburg.
