Upstairs in the central block between the two towers was once the West Gallery. Various details lead to the assumption that this room was reserved for imperially uses. Also, details of the central block 's entrance hall on the ground floor point to a special type of specifics . Here high-quality brick with grooved surfaces and smartly crafted sandstone blocks were worked with. Inside the - still completely intact - barrel vault there are middle-aged paintings of holy scenes to be found. Particularly impressive is the entrance which dates back to the second half of the 12th century. The red-white contrast of the arch-bows and the unusual shape of the capitals (the top connecting pieces of the pillars) make the barrel vault an outstanding Monument of the Staufer-era.
